Now that the weather has improved to allow us to use our swimming pools, we are still faced with the extra tasks involved in cleaning the pool. There are different aspects to look at here. There is the water testing and balancing; the debris that settles to the bottom of the pool; and the debris that lands on the surface of the pool and more. The Swimming Pool Surface Skimmer can save you time.
In this blog, I am focusing on my experience with pools and the debris that lands on the surface of the pools. Most of the debris will float for a period of time and eventually it will sink to the bottom of the pool or remain on the surface until the water cycles through the pool skimmer and eventually removes it. Depending on the wind in the area, this could take hours to happen. This is where I have found the Surface Skimmer works best. Why?
When I want to use my pool I don’t want to wait for an hour or two. A hand skimmer will get to larger debris off of the water, depending on the amount of debris, it takes me 30 to 45 minutes to do a reasonably good job. But… it doesn’t efficiently and effectively remove the pollen dust and tiny bugs on the water surface. That skimming time is also time spent in the hot sun … this is time I would rather spend in the pool or sipping a bevy at the side of the pool.
With a Swimming Pool Surface Skimmer, my wife and I can clear off the accumulated debris from the pool surface in 6 to 8 minutes on an 18 x 36 foot pool. If there is a bigger collection of leaves, grass and twigs we can dump this off on the side away from the pool. Then, another 2 or 3 skims to remove the small bugs, dusts and pollen. This debris is corralled and fed into the pool skimmer. I usually complete a 1 minute back flush if I have a lot to fine debris that I removed. I feel it helps the entire circulation system work better.
Now, a concern has been raised with me. I have been asked, “what if we don’t have a second person at the pool?” OK, I understand the concern and then I have to apply a bit of logic and safety to this question.
Organizations that are involved in safety around the water teach and encourage us to use the Buddy System or Swim With a Partner. In theory we should always have a second person at the pool in case of an emergency occurs. If someone chooses to ignore this safety rule, that is their prerogative. The Swimming Pool Surface Skimmer is marketed on the premise that there is always a second person by the pool. It actually encourages the ‘Buddy System’ because you need 2 people to use it.
While I know there are all kind of directions this blog could go, I’m not prepared to expand it at this time, I would appreciate your thoughts and constructive input on this blog and a Swimming Pool Surface Skimmer.
